Although the People’s Republic of China government has been working hard to crack down piracy in order to improve its image, what will happen if the PRC government itself is the perpetrator?
It is widely known that the Chinese military had built a replica of Taiwan’s Ching Chuan Kang air base in Dingxin, Gansu Province, to practice how to take over the base in the event of a war with Taiwan. It took me some time to locate it on Google Maps. The image below shows the replica in Dingxin on the left and the actual CCK on the right. It can be seen a suspected service road on the northwest corner leading to a possbile supporting facility.

will take you to the location of the CCK replica in Dingxin on Google Maps. The Dingxin Airfield is to its northwest. If you zoom out and look to the northeast, you can find the famous Shuan-Cheng-Tzu Missile Test Range (now called Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center or East Wind Space City).
What’s the installation northeast of the Jiuguan Launch center?

The google map isn’t updating the image. But if you have Google Earth installed on your PC, you can have a much better resolution image. This place also has a SAM site(star of David pattern) east of the installation.

Bryan,
That place used to be the SAM site and support area. And the pattern is not the star of David. I will write a separate post for this topic. Thanks!
