One Day in Taoyuan International Airport

Posted on July 13, 2008

China Eastern Airbus 321

I saw this Chinese Airbus when I took my sister and her son, along with my family, to the Aviation Museum in Taoyuan International Airport today. Although charter flights between Taiwan and China started some years ago, this is my first time to see Chinese airliners on Taiwan soil. As the Chinese tourists who flew to Taiwan on the first direct weekend cross-Strait charter flights on July 4 are heading home, this Airbus must be here to pick them up.

China Airlines (A misnomer. It is really a Taiwanese airline company.) Boeing 747-400F greets arriving China Southern Airbust 320.

China Southern Airbus 320

Japan Airlines Boeing 747-400

Chian Airlines Airbus 340

Thai Airways Boeing 777

Korean Air Airbus 330

United Airlines Boeing 777

Asiana Airlines Boeing 747-400

China Airlines Boeing 737-800

Despite all the activities around, the three Boeing 757 of the recently defunct Far Eastern Air Transport have no choice but to rest quietly in the corner, waiting to learn their fates. For them, the agreement on regular charter flights between the two countries came several months too late.

Heck, at least those PRC airliners weren’t hijacked to here this time around…..

I wonder if they were done as domestic flights or international flights? But anyway it is the beginning of the end for Taiwan. Mr. Ma and his KMT slowly start to give the country back to China.

I wish Mr. Ma knew what he is doing…

    dutchphantom,
Yeah! You are right. Mr. Ma and KMT will give the county back to The Republic of China. Shame on those SOB who desecrate the beautiful name for the last eight years

Just hope Mr. Ma isn’t aiming for return to People’s Republic of China instead……

During lunch break yesterday, I saw a Chinese airliner take off from Taipei Sungshan Airport (an active military air base). I grew up under the two President Chiangs’ rules, when citizens could be easily detained for simply loitering around air bases. How time and KMT have changed!

The free citizens of Taiwan will have to choose their destiny and like we here in the USA, freedom breeds lethargy and non involvement. At least Taiwan has compulsory military service – everyone serves. Here we have a loathing of our military (Thank you Mister Pres. “BJ” Clinton – “I loathe the military.”). There are 700,000,000 in China that are not part of this “new” and wealthy China. Wait until the next democracy uprising happens, then smell again the burning bodies and view (what they allow or one sneaks out) the crushed bicycles and bodies in (1989) Tiananmen Square. Remember world, not just Taiwan, commies have NEVER, NEVER! Kept an agreement! Then this opening ChiComOlyFest where the Chinese character for “Peace” was bantered about – Peace? CommieLand China has 1,400 missiles pointed at Taiwan, and they b. s. the world with peace and pandas – and the world sucks it up.

    Lloyd,
Thank you very much for your advice. I heard that some American veterans will come to Taiwan for the 50th anniversary of the 1958 Taiwan Strait crisis. Are you one of them? I hope you or other veterans can deliver your advice to our current leaders when you meet them. They are not experienced in dealing with the Commies.
