Please look at those small squares just ahead of the forward position light strip. It seems this aircraft is one of the prototypes flown by AIDC. In TATE 2004, the air force demonstrated a local developed instrumental pod system, something like an improved version of ACMI. I wonder this is it.
ELINT pod?
Looks like FPR(Flight Profile Recorder). Might be the FPR for BGT/BVR/IAI Team’s EHUD GPS rangless ACMI system. But why would you hand 2 of the same pod on the same aircraft? Must be a long flight……..
The CSIST’s Red Shadow? The optical window would have to be much bigger and give it 90-120 degrees (or more) field of view on the seeker. Besides, without the fins, you can’t tell the real effect the missile would have on the airplane while carrying it. And, why would you need 2 of them?
