新化飛行場平面圖 (Sinka Airdrome on Google Earth & Maps)

新化飛行場也是14座日軍未移交給國軍的飛行場之一。跟好幾個台灣南部的飛行場一樣，新化只有一條長約1500公尺的跑道，並有滑行道可將飛機疏散到樹林中隱蔽。
Sinka (currently Sinhua in Tainan) Airdrome was one of the fourteen Japanese airfields that were not handed over to the ROC military at then end of WWII. Like several airdromes in souther Taiwan, Sinka consisted of a single 1500-m runway and taxiways leading to aircraft dispersal areas in the woods.

    恰好今日有空去新化
    朋友老家也在這
    就順便調查了一下

    透過朋友的阿媽打聽
    可是好像沒有人有聽過這裡有機場
    只知道知母義一帶有日軍兵營

    我們到現址查看
    機場的位置當然也已沒有任何遺跡
    我們也往樹林方向查看
    通往小山丘的路也不太一樣
    而且此小山丘現在已經變作墓園區
    所以看不到任何遺跡
    從墓地看起來年代都不久
    如果以前這小山丘邊有設施
    大概也都被破壞掉了

    雖然沒有找到任何此飛行場的痕跡
    不過知道一件當地人也不知的事也蠻有意思的

    不知道此機場是臨時用或是備用抑或是欺敵用而沒怎麼使用？
    所以當地人也無印象
