ROC Naval Aviation Command, previously based at Pingtung, was relocated to the former Taoyuan AFB on Jan. 2. Consequently Taoyuan AFB became Taoyuan Naval Base. The relocation is in anticipation of the yet-to-be-ordered P-3C, which will be based at Taoyuan when they are delivered.

I wonder if the P-3C purchase has been officially approved. They must be awfully sure of it, seeing as how they actually gave Taoyuan base to the navy.
The budget for the P-3C has yet to be approved by the Legislature. But we do not have alternatives.
China Times (中國時報) ran a story on Jan. 3 about the base transfer by the reporter 胡欣男. The report says:
How many errors can you spot? Poor China Times…
They’d better pass that special arms budget soon, I’m getting pretty darn frustrated…….=P
