The declassified document USAF Organization Maintenance Handbook: Hsin Chu Air Base, Taiwan 1957-58 contains many rare photos of the labs used by ROCAF 34th Squadron. I sent a copy to the veteran Phil Lee (李崇善) and he was very kind to share what he remembered about these photos. So here are some photos from the album. I believe this is the first time that such photos are made public on the Internet.

QRC-15 bench mockup.

Another photo of QRC-15 bench mockup from a different angle.
QRC-15, like many other pieces of equipment used by the 34th Squadron, is very sensitive. So they built a “Screen Room”, which was shielded with a copper net to isolate electromagnetic interference from the outside. The following photos were taken in the Screen Room.

Recording system used to depulicate tapes.

QRC-15 activity indicator. The scope on top of it can be seen in the previous photo.

Brush equipment, which is next to QRC-15 activity indicator in the previous photo. It is similar to the system we use today to record earthquakes.
