I was surprised that Charlie Wu’s (吳載熙) family knew very little about the accident that killed him until I sent the declassified accident investigation report to Charlie’s younger brother Thomas Wu (吳載奇), a retired ROCAF general and former vice intelligence chief. So I guess this post marks the first time that (some) details about the six U-2 missions flown by Charlie Wu are revealed.
- C065C, Feb 24, 1965: This mission covered a good part of Yunan Province in southwest China.

- C115C, Mar 14, 1965: This mission also covered Yunan Province. A Chinese MiG attempted to shoot down Wu’s U-2 with missiles but failed.

On this mission, Wu photographed the MiGs parked at Kunming Airfield. It was not known whether the MiG attempting to shoot him down was launched from here.

- C245C, Apr 30, 1965: This mission covered the coast along Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces.
This photo of Chou Shan (舟山) Naval Base was taken on C245C:

Chou Shan area forty years later:
- C325C, May 28, 1965: This mission flew along the coasts of Guangdong and Fujian Provinces.

- C455C, Aug 24, 1965: This mission covered Guangdong Province.

- C555C, Oct 19, 1965: This mission covered Guangdong Province and Haina Island.
