
The Cardinal UAV made its debut in TADTE 2009. It shares the common portable control station and datalink modules (mounted on the tripod in the picture above) with the Blue Magpie MAV. As shown in the following photo, the Cardinal UAV can be disassembled into seven major parts.
今年的台北國防航太展是紅雀無人飛機的處女秀,它的特色之一是跟之前介紹過的藍鵲無人飛機共用相同的可攜式控制台和資料鏈模組(架在上圖的三角架上),由此可以顯示中科院在UAV的設計上已經相當有心得。此外,紅雀無人飛機可以分解為七大部分(如下圖所示),方便人員攜行。

The Cardinal UAV can fitted with either a CCD camera or an IR camera (shown in the following picture) simply by swapping the nose section.
只要更換機首,紅雀無人飛機就可以使用CCD日間攝影機或是紅外線攝影機(如下圖)。

In TADTE 2007, CSIST showcased a UAV which bore strong resemblance to the Cardinal UAV. The most significant difference is the location of the propeller. Was it a prototype?
在2007年的時候,中科院就曾經展出一款外型跟紅雀極為相似的無人飛機,兩者最大的差異是螺旋講的位置,只是不曉得它是不是紅雀的原型機,還是根本就是另一款?

Though developed by CSIST, the Cardinal UAV bears striking similarity to the RQ-11 Raven (below) used by the US military, as evident in the following photo. The Cardinal UAV is only slightly larger and heavier than the RQ-11.
儘管紅雀無人飛機是中科院研發的成果,它的外型卻像極了美軍使用的RQ-11無人飛機(如下圖),只是紅雀稍微大了和重了一些。

They are not just simliar in the appearance. They also share some common design features. For example, they both have detachable noses.
兩者不僅是外型相似,連一些設計的特點都非常類似,例如兩者都有可替換的機首。

The RQ-11 can be disassembled and transported in three suitcases. But I am not sure if CSIST has thought about transportability of the Cardinal.
大部分解的RQ-11零組件是分別放在三個手提箱中攜行,但不知道中科院是否也考慮到了這個問題。
