The other day I posted a question on a Taiwanese military forum, asking what the addition to the tail of UH-1H 65-2101 (401) was (see the photo below). A netizen soon pointed out that it was a positioning light for NVG.

That’s cool. But he asked me in turn what the “V”-shape marking on 63-2060 (360) meant. To tell the truth, I had not noticed the difference in their markings until he asked me. I checked other photos of UH-1H and found that some had the V marking and some did not. Does anybody know the answer?
A friend sent me a photo of the aircraft identification plate of CH-47SD. It seemed that the CH-47SD acquition was not conducted as a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) but as a direct commercial sale, because there was no US Army serial number on the plate. With this photo, I could also identify Boeing’s serial numbers for the CH-47SD. Please see the CH-47SD page.
