This wooden model of ROCAF P2V-7 is a collection of the 34th Squadron veteran Phil Lee (李崇善). Because most, if not all, of the photos of ROCAF P2V-U published so far are black-and-white, it has been very difficult to tell whether the aircraft was painted in black or very dark blue. This model should end the debate. Since it was made while the P2V-7 were still in ROCAF service, its rendition of color should closely follow the real aircraft; hence it is some kind of dark blue. According to the British aviation historian Chris Pocock, who accompanied us to visit Mr. Lee in late February, the color is called “Non-Spectacular Sea Blue”. For serious scale modelers, the FSN is 35045.

With Clarence Fu’s book on the 34th Squadron to be published soon, I will try to post more related photos or documents.
