1. More nice photos Wei-Bin. This was indeed a great show, amazing location and fantastic flying – Taiwan is one cool place…and if you missed this show too bad, because the last flypast of the F-16’s display was the closest I’d ever been to a modern military fighter that’s flying and on reheat when I’m standing underneath it…cool! The ROCAF really rocks!!! Roll on the Kangshan show (PS – note to my employers if you’re reading this – can I stay in Taiwan a lot longer???!!!)

   飛虎紀念館成立 陳香梅剪綵

   〔記者游太郎、花孟璟／花蓮報導〕空軍慶祝八一四空軍節，昨天於花蓮基地擴大舉行活動，除由雷虎小組及F-16戰機表演飛行特技外，並邀請飛虎隊陳納德將軍的遺孀陳香梅女士，主持飛虎紀念館及陳納德銅像揭幕典禮，吸引了超過五千位民眾前往參觀。

   暌違十三年後，空軍雷虎小組昨天再度前來花蓮基地表演，共計二十三個表演科目，現場民眾叫好聲不斷。

   此外，空軍F-16戰機昨天也首度公開表演飛行特技，總計十五個科目讓國人大開眼界，空軍花蓮基地F-16飛行員表示，這些科目平常即有訓練，只是如何在有限的時間、空域表演出來，換句話說，F-16飛行員的飛行技術已達爐火純青的階段。

   曾經隸屬於空軍四○一聯隊的飛行第五大隊，在抗戰時曾納入飛虎隊，這次空軍四○一聯隊將空軍花蓮基地內的四○一隊史館，擴建為「飛虎紀念館」。美國飛虎隊陳納德將軍的遺孀陳香梅，昨天到空軍花蓮基地為「飛虎紀念館」剪綵，也為陳列館內的陳納德銅像揭幕。

   陳香梅昨天也允諾，將陸續把保存在美國華府的陳納德將軍紀念物品，包括有飛虎隊員簽名的一大張紀念照片、與歐洲戰場艾森豪將軍通信的書信及各項文件，都將整理後陸續送達，這些珍貴歷史文物包括美國國家檔案館等都很有興趣，不過陳香梅選擇讓文物落腳台灣。

   飛虎紀念館成立活動上，也有來自美國的廿多名昔日飛虎隊飛行員及眷屬與會，而美國飛虎會會長Jon Pensyl還贈送一件美軍由二次大戰使用迄今的A-2飛行夾克給飛虎紀念館，由空軍司令沈國禎代表接受。

6. Great shots! They make me homesick because of the time that I worked with the Blue Angels at two airshows in Indiana. Thanks for the excitement and making me proud of Taiwan’s pilots.
