美軍在偵照底片上把大崗山飛行場稱作Kamka Airdrome，這聽起來有點像是「崁腳」的台語發音，頗符合這座飛行場位在大崗山山腳下的實際狀況。不過我在台灣堡圖上找不到崁腳這樣的地名，倒是旁邊有個地方叫做崁底。另外我發現台灣堡圖上大崗山的日語發音並非だいおかやま（Daiokayama），而是??こうんそう（??kounso，有兩個字母看不清楚），還請懂日文的朋友指點一下。上面這張1944年的空照圖是在高空拍攝的，解析度不佳。下面這張1945年的照片清楚很多，但可惜不完整，沒有拍到飛行場北端（左邊）。
「台灣區各飛機場要圖」的大崗山飛行場要圖如下，可以發現比例不甚正確。
靠近跑道南端（圖的右邊）的地方以日文和中文寫著「混凝土」，在放大後的空照圖相對區域可以看得到材質不太一樣，在跑道最南端未完成的區域也好像有一塊混凝土鋪的區域：

有興趣的朋友可以在以下的連結下載kmz檔，或在Google Map上瀏覽。大崗山飛行場的地點現在是一座軍營（不知道有沒有被廢除？），雖然跑道的輪廓要很用力才看得出來，原有的21處露天飛機掩體仍有不少被保留了下來。
台灣堡圖中用片假名書寫以台語譯音為主,大崗山寫成トア コウン ソワ TOA KOUN SOWA,下方有大寮庄書寫比較清楚也拼成トアTOA,不過旁邊的大埔似乎拼成トハTOHA。

I notice that this one and Sinka aren’t on the TGC map of fields. I’m assuming these aren’t labelled as Rende or Guanmiao. They both seem fairly decent sized, similar at least to modern Rende. Any clues yet on Guanmiao’s location? I figure those large fields east of the HSR as likely. Still interesting that there were so many fields in the area.
I think Guanmiao and Sinka are the same one. The names assigned to the airfields did not always reflect their true locations. Ensui (鹽水) Airdrome is a case in point.
The TGC map has some errors. It might have originated from American sources, which may explains the errors and the reason why the names on the map were not consistent with those used in the Taiwan Area Airdrome Plans.
