IDF II 10005
During a business visit, Joson Tu was offered a tour of AIDC’s hangars and got to see the two IDF II prototypes, 10005 and 10006, up close and personal. He is kind enough to share the photos with all of us.
IDF II 10006
Although the IDF II was christened Goshawk by then-President Chen Shui-bien during the rollout ceremony, 10005 retained the original name Hsiang Sheng (Soaring Upgrade).

No name was stenciled on 10006.
10005 was in a clean configuration.
10006 was fitted with two underwing tanks and a non-standard pod on the centerline.

The pod in the above photo looks like the test equipment pod carried by IDF 1417, when I took the photo ten years ago. It was used for radar testing.
There will be more photos from Jason’s visit. So check back often.
