In the post A Very Rare Breed: EA-6A Intruder, I wrote about EA-6A 156984 and noted that it had been seen at Sioux City airport in Iowa and that someone was looking for information on this aircraft for restoration. I contacted this person and he sent me the above photo taken at Sioux City airport.
The EA-6A can be seen on the Yahoo! satellite image. (Neither Google Maps nor Microsoft Live Search provide images with this level of resolution.) The person who sent me the EA-6A photo reminded me that Sioux City is the crash site of UA232 DC-10 in 1991. He pointed out that Runway 22 (note the X mark on the runway) on which the DC-10 landed was not far from the EA-6A and the scuff marks left by the airliner can still be seen on the image.
