The two photos, reportedly both taken by the navigator Clayton Campbell of B-25 40-2247 piloted by Lt. Edgar E. McElroy, were subsequently used in the intelligence analysis report <i>Japanese Air Target Analyses<\/i> as shown below.  <strong>Be sure to click on the next two images to see their high-resolution, unannotated versions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_2f.jpg\" target=_blank><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_2.jpg\" alt=\"Click to see full-size version\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_3f.jpg\" target=_blank><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_3.jpg\" alt=\"Click to see full-size version\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Where were they taken?  Using the following aerial photo of Yokosuka Naval Base taken in November 1944 as a reference, I drew blue lines and yellow lines to indicate the areas respectively covered by Photo d and Photo f (Target 278) shown above.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_23.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the aerial photo below (ca. 1947), you can even see the barracks that are on the foreground of Photo f.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_3a.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The mission report filed by the crew of 40-2247 described &#8220;Bombs were released as planned, from East to West across workshop and building slip area&#8221;.  The flight path of 2247 in the figure below also corroborates that Photos d and f above were taken by McElroy&#8217;s crew.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_3s.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today Yokosuka Naval Base is the homeport of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) of the US Navy.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"550\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com.tw\/maps?f=q&amp;source=s_q&amp;hl=zh-TW&amp;geocode=&amp;q=&amp;aq=&amp;sll=35.164635,136.884134&amp;sspn=0.010823,0.022724&amp;t=h&amp;brcurrent=3,0x0:0x0,0&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=35.287666,139.671507&amp;spn=0.031527,0.047121&amp;z=14&amp;output=embed\"><\/iframe><br \/><small><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com.tw\/maps?f=q&amp;source=embed&amp;hl=zh-TW&amp;geocode=&amp;q=&amp;aq=&amp;sll=35.164635,136.884134&amp;sspn=0.010823,0.022724&amp;t=h&amp;brcurrent=3,0x0:0x0,0&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=35.287666,139.671507&amp;spn=0.031527,0.047121&amp;z=14\" style=\"color:#0000FF;text-align:left\">\u6aa2\u8996\u8f03\u5927\u7684\u5730\u5716<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>Although it is generally believed only two photos survived, I found three other photos in National Archive which also claim to be taken during the raid.  They all carry the same captions on the back as shown here:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/doolittle_raid_4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The three photos were taken a few seconds apart.
