On the 24th, President Johnson approved the use of Black Shield A-12 to find the vessel.  Two days later, Jack Weeks flew A-12 #131 on a three-pass mission over North Korea.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/nk_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Although the Oxcart made only three passes over North Korean sky on Mission BX-6847, more than half of North Korean territory was covered!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/nk_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The good news is that USS Pueblo was found in a bay near Munchon (\ubb38\ucc9c\uc2dc), north of Wonsan (\uc6d0\uc0b0\uc2dc), and the North Korean armed forces were not mobilized for any military actions.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/nk_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/nk_4.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is where Pueblo was found:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/?ie=UTF8&amp;t=h&amp;ll=39.320089,127.43454&amp;spn=0.04648,0.072956&amp;z=13&amp;output=embed\"><\/iframe><br \/><small><a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/?ie=UTF8&amp;t=h&amp;ll=39.320089,127.43454&amp;spn=0.04648,0.072956&amp;z=13&amp;source=embed\" style=\"color:#0000FF;text-align:left\">\u6aa2\u8996\u8f03\u5927\u7684\u5730\u5716<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>Pueblo was found accompanied by two North Korean patrol boats:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/nk_5.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After Mission BX-6847, CIA flew two more Black Shield missions over North Korea, including A-12&#8217;s last operational mission.  The Pueblo crew was released on December 23, 1968, almost one year after they were captured, but North Korea has not repatriated the vessel yet.  USS Pueblo later was moved to Pyongyang and has since become a tourist attraction.
