After Lt. Col. Chen of the 35th Squadron successfully carried out GRC-100 mission over China on January 13, 1962, CIA U-2 program’s top man, Richard M. Bissell, Jr., sent the above document to congratulate on the success. The addressee(s) of the document have not been declassified. But the context and wording imply that it was sent to the commander of Detachment H in Taoyuan.<\/p>\n

\u7562\u65af\u723e\u5728\u540c\u4e00\u5929\u767c\u4e86\u53e6\u4e00\u4efd\u96fb\u6587\u795d\u8cc0GRC-100\u4efb\u52d9\u6210\u529f\uff08\u5982\u4e0b\u5716\uff09\u3002\u7531\u5167\u5bb9\u4f86\u5224\u65b7\uff0c\u53d7\u6587\u8005\u6975\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u7576\u6642\u4e2d\u60c5\u5c40\u7684\u53f0\u5317\u7ad9\u9577\uff0d\uff0d\u7f8e\u570b\u6d77\u8ecd\u8f14\u52a9\u901a\u4fe1\u4e2d\u5fc3\uff08NACC\uff09\u7684\u514b\u840a\u6069\uff08Ray S. Cline\uff09\u3002\u7562\u65af\u723e\u5728\u7b2c\u4e8c\u6bb5\u8981\u4ed6\u4ee3\u70ba\u81f4\u8b1d\u7684\u5c0d\u8c61\uff0c\u61c9\u8a72\u5c31\u662f\u8523\u4ecb\u77f3\u6216\uff08\u8207\uff09\u8523\u7d93\u570b\u3002
Richard Bissell sent the document below on the same day. It was mostly likely addressed to Ray S. Cline, the head of CIA’s Taipei Station, NACC. In paragraph 2, Bissell probably asked Cline to thank Chiang Kai-Shek and\/or Chiang Ching-Kuo for their cooperation.<\/p>\n
