{"id":551,"date":"2009-08-01T10:12:09","date_gmt":"2009-08-01T02:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/?p=551"},"modified":"2009-08-01T10:15:54","modified_gmt":"2009-08-01T02:15:54","slug":"thou-shalt-not-flyever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/?p=551","title":{"rendered":"Thou Shalt Not Fly&#8230;Ever!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <i>Foreign Relations of the United States, Volume XVIII, China 1973-1976<\/i>, Secretary of State Kissinger made the following promise to PRC Prime Minister Chou En-lai during their conversation in Beijing on November 11, 1973.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/close_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(\u7f8e\u570b\u570b\u52d9\u537f\u5b63\u8f9b\u5409\u65bc1973\u5e7411\u6708\u8a2a\u554f\u5317\u4eac\uff0c\u572811\u670811\u65e5\u7684\u4e00\u6b21\u6703\u8ac7\u4e2d\uff0c\u5b63\u8f9b\u5409\u5c0d\u4e2d\u570b\u7e3d\u7406\u5468\u6069\u4f86\u4f5c\u51fa\u4e86\u4ee5\u4e0a\u7684\u627f\u8afe\u3002\u9019\u500b\u627f\u8afe\u7b49\u65bc\u662f\u5ba3\u544a\u4e86\u9ed1\u8c93\u4e2d\u968a\u7684\u6b7b\u5211\uff0c\u800c\u66f4\u8af7\u523a\u7684\u662f\uff0c\u4e2d\u570b\u61c9\u8a72\u6bd4\u6211\u570b\u9084\u65e9\u77e5\u9053\u7f8e\u65b9\u7684\u9019\u500b\u6c7a\u5b9a\u3002)<\/p>\n<p>This statement declared the demise of Project TACKLE.  Ironically, China probably knew about the termination BEFORE Taiwan did.<\/p>\n<p>In June 1974, the Government of the Republic of China (GRC) officially agreed to the termination of Project TACKLE.
