It was built by the Takao (now Kaohsiung) Harbor.  As the next two photos show, this camp was different from the Taihoku #6 and Kinkaseki camps in that each building was surrounded by walls.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/takao_2.jpg\" alt=\"Takao POW Camp\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/takao_3.jpg\" alt=\"Takao POW Camp\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the 1959 photo below, the camp was gone.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/takao_4.jpg\" alt=\"Takao POW Camp\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I overlayed the 1944 photo on Google Earth satellite image below.
