Because I have not found the right &#8220;tempo&#8221;, I have not blogged for quite a while.  Sorry.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend I went to Ilan for a two-day trip.  The above photo was taken outside an artillery testing facility, which was right next to the hotel we stayed.  While looking for the hotel on Google Maps before the trip, I found this facility had a helicopter pad.  So I had hoped to see some helicopters.  Unfortunately there were no activities when we were there.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_02.jpg\"><\/br>The helicopter pad was barely visible from the top of the hotel.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_01.jpg\"><\/br>No activities at the facility.<\/p>\n<p>You can take a look at the facility on Google Maps (you can see the hotel&#8217;s swimming pool too).  The rooms were just ok but the hotel has a private beach, which is quite nice.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" marginheight=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com.tw\/?ie=UTF8&amp;ll=24.802416,121.818364&amp;spn=0.001846,0.005332&amp;t=k&amp;z=18&amp;output=embed&amp;s=AARTsJqzARj-Z8VnW5pkPMLMmZbqrJcYpw\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_03.jpg\"><\/br>The weather was not ideal.  We could not see the Guei Shan (<i>Turtle Mountain<\/i>) Island very well.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_04.jpg\"><\/br>A breaking in the clouds.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_05.jpg\"><\/br>It was my first time to be so close to so many bees.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_06.jpg\"><\/br>A formation flight.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_07.jpg\"><\/br>Ilan is famous for its scallions.  But these are not scallions but leeks.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_08.jpg\"><\/br><i>Yummy, yummy!<\/i> Taiwanese sausages sold at a winery.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_09.jpg\"><\/br>We ate <b>a lot<\/b> of sausages during the two days.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_10.jpg\"><\/br>Ilan&#8217;s Jiaosi Township is famous for its hot spring.  This a public hot spring park.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_11.jpg\"><\/br>Although many earthquakes occur in Ilan each year, this building has <b>not<\/b> been damaged by any earthquake.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/02\/ilan_12.jpg\"><\/br><i>Gong Si Fa Cai!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>It was more than twenty years ago when I stayed over in Ilan last time before this trip.  I found Ilan has changed a lot.
