After planning for almost a year, it was decided in August 1957 to send four pilots, four navigators, and four crew chiefs to the United States for training on the P2V-7U.  They departed on October 9 of the same year.  The training was completed at the end of November and all of them returned to Taiwan on December 3. (snipped) In mid March 1958, the unit was operation-ready.<\/p>\n<h3>\u4f5c\u6230\u7d93\u904e<\/h3>\n<p>\u4e09\u6708\u5eff\u65e517:40 P2V-7U 5005\u81ea\u65b0\u7af9\u57fa\u5730\u8d77\u98db, \u57f7\u884c\u9996\u6b21\u4efb\u52d9, \u7d93\u904e\u5730\u5340\u8a08\u74ca\u6842\u7cb5\u7b49\u4e09\u7701, \u4efb\u52d9\u76ee\u7684\u70ba\u5c0d\u8a72\u5730\u5340\u532a\u5404\u578b\u96f7\u9054\u90e8\u7f72\u4f5c\u4e00\u822c\u6027\u4e4b\u5075\u6e2c. \u8a08\u7372\u4fe1\u865f\u56db\u5341\u516b\u7d44, \u4e26\u5c0d\u5927\u8def\u5e02\u7b49\u5341\u4e8c\u500b\u76ee\u6a19\u7a7a\u6295\u5fc3\u6230\u54c1\u4e8c\u96f6\u56db\u4e8c\u78c5. \u6cbf\u9014\u591a\u70ba\u5bc6\u88c2\u96f2\u5929\u6c23, \u672a\u906d\u9047\u4efb\u4f55\u60c5\u6cc1. \u5168\u7a0b\u4e8c\u4e00\u516d\u96f6\u6d6c, \u7e3d\u98db\u884c\u6642\u959312:55\u5c0f\u6642. \u5352\u7531\u6a5f\u9577\u8d99\u6b3d\u4e2d\u6821\u53ca\u5168\u9ad4\u6a5f\u54e1\u5bc6\u5207\u5408\u4f5c\u4ee5\u53ca\u914d\u5408\u719f\u7df4\u4e4b\u6280\u8853\u54e1\u6eff\u9054\u6210\u4efb\u52d9, \u65bc\u4e09\u6708\u5eff\u4e00\u65e506:35\u964d\u843d\u65b0\u7af9\u57fa\u5730.<br \/>\nOn the first mission, P2V 5005, piloted by LtCol Chao Chin, took off from Hsinchu AFB at 1740 hours on March 20, 1958.  The target areas were located in Hainan, Guangxi, and Guangdong Provinces.  The mission was to collect ELINT on ChiCom radars and to drop psychological warfare materials in twelve locations.  Forty-eight sets of radar signals were recorded and 2042 pounds of materials were dropped.
