{"id":155,"date":"2007-07-15T11:33:47","date_gmt":"2007-07-15T03:33:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/?p=155"},"modified":"2008-01-21T12:02:11","modified_gmt":"2008-01-21T04:02:11","slug":"f-16-purchase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/?p=155","title":{"rendered":"F-16 Purchase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Local media reported that Taiwan&#8217;s Chief of the General Staff Huo Shou-yeh (\u970d\u5b88\u696d) is currently visiting the US to lobby for the sale of 66 F-16C\/D to Taiwan.\u00a0 Although next year is also the election year in the US, the current President Bush is already in his second term and not seeking for re-election like then President Bush.\u00a0 So this time it is going to be tough for Taiwan.\u00a0 But I expect the sale will eventually go through.<\/p>\n<p>Back to 1992.\u00a0 Right after President George H. W.
