I believe many people have heard of the F-5F crash that took place on May 11.\u00a0 I did not blog about it then because I was disturbed by the news.\u00a0 I did not even watch the evening news that day because it would have made me more depressed.\u00a0 Besides, I didn’t think Taiwan’s TV stations could provide much credible information on an event of this nature.<\/p>\n
Two aspects make\u00a0this crash quite special.\u00a0 First, two Singapore Armed Forces soldiers were killed by the crashing aircraft while several others were injured.\u00a0 These soldiers belong to the so-called “Starlight Detachment”, which have been conducting military training on Taiwan’s soil\u00a0for many years.\u00a0 After the accident, the Singapore government dispatched a KC-135 and a KC-130 to bring back two\u00a0injured servicemen and the remains of late 3rd Sergeant (3SG) Isz Sazli Bin Sapari on May 12.\u00a0 Singapore Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) have so far issued the following updates about the accident:<\/p>\n
