I was correct in that there indeed used to a Japanese airfield during WWII.  However, the narrow &#8220;runway&#8221; I saw on the CORONA satellite images was not the work of the Japanese.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/hukou.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u4e0a\u9762\u9019\u5f35\u7f8e\u8ecd\u57281945\u5e74\u62cd\u651d\u7684\u7167\u7247\u88e1\u7684\u98db\u884c\u5834\uff0c\u4f4d\u7f6e\u5c31\u5728\u6e56\u53e3\u57fa\u5730\u4e2d\u8208\u53f0\uff0c\u4e0d\u904e\u7576\u6642\u7f8e\u8ecd\u6c92\u6709\u70ba\u5b83\u547d\u540d\uff0c\u7f8e\u8ecd\u7684\u5075\u5bdf\u7167\u7247\u4e0a\u7684\u8a3b\u8a18\u662f\u300cA\/D 4 MI. N.E. Shinchiku\u300d\uff08\u65b0\u7af9\u6771\u5317\u65b94\u82f1\u54e9\u7684\u6a5f\u5834\uff09\u3002\u9019\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u56e0\u70ba\u5b83\u7684\u898f\u6a21\u8f03\u5c0f\uff0c\u8dd1\u9053\u9577\u5ea6\u53ea\u6709\u4e00\u516c\u91cc\u5de6\u53f3\uff08\u9e7f\u6e2f\u98db\u884c\u5834\u9577\u7d04\u5169\u516c\u91cc\uff09\uff0c\u9732\u5929\u6a5f\u5821\u5927\u7d04\u53ea\u670911\u5ea7\u3002 <\/br>The above reconnaissance photo, taken by American aircraft in 1945, shows the Japanese airfield at the time.  But it was only marked as &#8220;A\/D 4 MI. N.E. Shinchiku&#8221; on the film.  (Shinchiku is the Japanese pronunciation of Hsinchu.)  It was unnamed probably due to its relatively small size.  Its length was only about 1000 meters, whereas Rokko Airdrome was 2000 meters in lenght.  There were only 11 revetments.<\/p>\n<p>\u5229\u7528Google Earth\u7684\u758a\u5716\u529f\u80fd\uff0c\u6211\u756b\u51fa\u9019\u5ea7\u98db\u884c\u5834\u7684\u5e73\u9762\u5716\uff0c\u4e0b\u5716\u88e1\u9762\u7684\u4e09\u89d2\u5f62\u5c31\u662f\u9732\u5929\u6a5f\u5821\u7684\u4f4d\u7f6e\uff0c\u56db\u500b\u6b63\u65b9\u5f62\u5247\u5c0d\u61c9\u5230\u6211\u5728\u7167\u7247\u4e0a\u767c\u73fe\u7684\u56db\u500b\u6b63\u65b9\u5f62\u5340\u584a\uff08\u6211\u731c\u662f\u9ad8\u5c04\u7832\u7684\u4f4d\u7f6e\uff09\u3002\u6709\u8208\u8da3\u627e\u51fa\u9019\u5ea7\u98db\u884c\u5834\u78ba\u5207\u4f4d\u7f6e\u7684\u670b\u53cb\u53ef\u4ee5<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/taiwanairpower\/home\/airdrome\/plan\/HukouAirdromePlan.kmz?attredirects=0&#038;d=1\">\u4e0b\u8f09kmz\u6a94<\/a>\u3002 <\/br>With the help of the reconnaissance photo, I drew the airfield plan on Google Earth.  The triangles represent the revetments, while the four square symbols indicate the four square pads I found on the photo.  I guess there were pads for anti-aircraft guns, but I could be wrong.
