On the morning of August 12, 1945, F4U Corsairs of VMF-312, VMF-322, and VMF-323 of the Marine Aircraft Group 33 took off from their base at Awase Airstrip on the east coast of Okinawa for a mission against northern Formosa. Their primary target was Matsuyama Airdrome (currently Sungshan) near Taihoku. After reaching the target area at 1000 (Tokyo time), the Corsairs strafed and fired 5-in rockets at aircraft, warehouses, and barracks on the airfield. Some F4U attacked a radio station in Hokuto (now Beitou) and a train at Tamsui station. All F4U pancaked at 1220.<\/p>\n

\u9019\u662f\u7f8e\u570b\u6d77\u8ecd\u9678\u6230\u968a\u98db\u6a5f\u9996\u6b21\u5f9e\u9678\u4e0a\u57fa\u5730\u8d77\u98db\u653b\u64ca\u53f0\u7063\uff0c\u800c\u7531\u65bc\u65e5\u672c\u5728\u4e09\u5929\u5f8c\u5c31\u6295\u964d\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u9019\u4e5f\u662f\u7f8e\u570b\u6d77\u8ecd\u9678\u6230\u968a\u7684\u98db\u6a5f\u5728\u4e8c\u6230\u4e2d\u6700\u5f8c\u4e00\u6b21\u653b\u64ca\u53f0\u7063\u7684\u884c\u52d5\u3002\u937e\u5805\u6559\u6388\u5728\u300a\u53f0\u7063\u822a\u7a7a\u6c7a\u6230\u300b\u4e00\u66f8\u4e2d\u6307\u51fa\uff0c\u7f8e\u6a5f\u57281945\u5e748\u670810\u65e5\u8f5f\u70b8\u5357\u53f0\u7063\u5404\u5e02\u93ae\uff0c\u70ba\u7d42\u6230\u524d\u6700\u5f8c\u4e00\u6b21\u5c0d\u53f0\u7a7a\u8972\uff0c\u5176\u5be6\u4e26\u4e0d\u6b63\u78ba\u3002
This marks the first strike mission against Formosa by land-based USMC aircraft during WWII. Since Japan surrendered three days later, it is also the last Formosa mission by the Marines during the war.<\/p>\n

\u3010\u7121\u734e\u5fb5\u7b54\u3011\uff1a\u7f8e\u570b\u6d77\u8ecd\u9678\u6230\u968a\u98db\u6a5f\u5728\u4e8c\u6b21\u5927\u6230\u4e2d\u9996\u6b21\u5c0d\u53f0\u653b\u64ca\u4efb\u52d9\uff08\u4e0d\u662f\u5f9e\u9678\u5730\u4e0a\u8d77\u98db\uff09\u767c\u751f\u5728\u54ea\u4e00\u5929\uff1f
Note that it is the first Formosa mission by “land-based” USMC aircraft. But it is not the first time that USMC aircraft attacked Formosa.<\/p>\n
