The airfield in the photo, Toyohara, was in fact referred to by the Japanese military as Taichu. The oblique photo below, taken on March 1, 1944, has better quality.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=550 alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/toyohara_2.jpg\" \/><br \/><small><a href=\"http:\/\/gis.rchss.sinica.edu.tw\/GIArchive\/\" target=_blank>\u4e2d\u592e\u7814\u7a76\u9662\u6d77\u5916\u6b77\u53f2\u5716\u8cc7\u8207\u5178\u85cf (Via Academia Sinica)<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>1944\u5e7410\u670815\u65e5\uff0c\u7531B-29\u8f5f\u70b8\u6a5f\u6539\u88dd\u7684\u7f8e\u570b\u9678\u8ecd\u822a\u7a7a\u968a\u7b2c468\u8f5f\u70b8\u5927\u968a\u5075\u5bdf\u6a5f\u62cd\u4e0b\u4e86\u4e0b\u9762\u9019\u5f35\u50be\u659c\u7a7a\u7167\uff0c\u5728\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\uff08Toyohara A\/F\uff09\u7684\u897f\u65b9\u591a\u4e86\u4e00\u5ea7\u9644\u5c6c\u6a5f\u5834\uff08Satellite A\/F\uff09\u3002\u7f8e\u8ecd\u5206\u6790\u4eba\u54e1\u5224\u8b80\u9019\u5ea7\u5efa\u9020\u4e2d\u7684\u6a5f\u5834\u6709\u4e00\u689d\u6771\u5317\uff0d\u897f\u5357\u8d70\u5411\u7684\u8dd1\u9053\uff0c\u95773800\u82f1\u544e\uff0c\u5bec200\u82f1\u544e\uff0c\u9084\u6709\u9577\u7d046000\u82f1\u544e\u7684\u6ed1\u884c\u9053\uff0c\u4e26\u53ef\u900f\u904e\u53e6\u5916\u4e00\u689d\u6ed1\u884c\u9053\u8207\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\u76f8\u9023\u3002<br \/>On October 15, 1944, the 468th Bombardment Group of the US Army Air Force took the following photo of the same area. A &#8220;satellite airfield&#8221; had been built to the west of Toyohara Airfield.  An intelligence report, dated February 15, 1945, described the satellite airfield as having a NE-SW 200&#8242; x 3800&#8242; runway, a 6000&#8242; taxiway east of runway, and another taxiway connecting it with Toyohara Airfield.  The airfield was described as under construction at the time.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=550 alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/toyohara_3.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u7576\u7f8e\u8ecd\u57281945\u5e747\u67085\u65e5\u62cd\u651d\u4ee5\u4e0b\u7167\u7247\u6642\uff0c\u4e0a\u5716\u4e2d\u7684\u9644\u5c6c\u6a5f\u5834\u770b\u4f86\u5df2\u7d93\u5927\u81f4\u5b8c\u5de5\u3002<br \/>By the time when the next photo was taken (July 5, 1945), the satellite airfield (pointed by the arrow) most likely had been completed.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=550 alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/toyohara_4.jpg\" \/><br \/><small><a href=\"http:\/\/gis.rchss.sinica.edu.tw\/GIArchive\/\" target=_blank>\u4e2d\u592e\u7814\u7a76\u9662\u6d77\u5916\u6b77\u53f2\u5716\u8cc7\u8207\u5178\u85cf (Via Academia Sinica)<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>\u7167\u7247\u653e\u5927\u5f8c\u53ef\u4ee5\u770b\u5230\u8dd1\u9053\u5169\u982d\u4f9b\u98db\u6a5f\u8ff4\u8f49\u7684turning circle\u53ef\u7531\u6ed1\u884c\u9053\u9023\u63a5\uff1a<br \/>The enlarged photo below shows that the airfield had two turning circles on either end of the runway and a taxiway connected the two turning circles and the middle of the runway.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=550 alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/toyohara_5.jpg\" \/><br \/><small><a href=\"http:\/\/gis.rchss.sinica.edu.tw\/GIArchive\/\" target=_blank>\u4e2d\u592e\u7814\u7a76\u9662\u6d77\u5916\u6b77\u53f2\u5716\u8cc7\u8207\u5178\u85cf (Via Academia Sinica)<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>\u4e8c\u6b21\u5927\u6230\u7d50\u675f\u5f8c\uff0c\u65e5\u8ecd\u5448\u7e73\u7d66\u570b\u8ecd\u7684\u98db\u6a5f\u5834\u8981\u5716\u88e1\uff0c\u9019\u5ea7\u7f8e\u8ecd\u6240\u8b02\u7684\u9644\u5c6c\u6a5f\u5834\u88ab\u756b\u6210\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u5206\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u7a31\u5b83\u70ba\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\u7684\u897f\u8dd1\u9053\u4e5f\u4e0d\u70ba\u904e\u3002\u5f8c\u4f86\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\u6210\u70ba\u7a7a\u8ecd\u516c\u9928\u57fa\u5730\uff0c\u5728\u7f8e\u8ecd\u7684\u5354\u52a9\u4e0b\u5927\u5e45\u64f4\u5efa\u8207\u52a0\u5f37\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u5728\u4e0b\u9762\u9019\u5f351959\u5e74\u7684\u7a7a\u7167\u88e1\uff0c\u9019\u689d\u897f\u8dd1\u9053\u5e7e\u4e4e\u5df2\u7d93\u770b\u4e0d\u898b\uff1a<br \/>After WWII, Toyohara Airfield (officially Taichu Airdrome) was taken over by the ROC Air Force and became Kung Kuan Air Base. Wit the aid from the US military, the base was greatly expanded and enhanced.  In the following 1959 photo, covering the same area as that in the above photo, the old satellite airfield had all but disappeared. <\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=550 alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/taiwanairpower.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/toyohara_6.jpg\" \/><br \/><small><a href=\"http:\/\/gis.rchss.sinica.edu.tw\/GIArchive\/\" target=_blank>\u4e2d\u592e\u7814\u7a76\u9662\u6d77\u5916\u6b77\u53f2\u5716\u8cc7\u8207\u5178\u85cf (Via Academia Sinica)<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>\u516c\u9928\u57fa\u5730\u5f8c\u4f86\u6539\u7a31\u6e05\u6cc9\u5d17\uff0c\u800c\u539f\u4f86\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\u897f\u8dd1\u9053\u7684\u4f4d\u7f6e\u73fe\u5728\u8b8a\u6210\u7684\u53f0\u4e2d\u822a\u7a7a\u7ad9\u7684\u7528\u5730\uff0c\u653f\u5e9c\u61c9\u8a72\u5728\u6b64\u7acb\u7891\uff08\u6216\u724c\uff09\u8aaa\u660e\u3002\u4ee5\u4e0b\u662f\u6211\u5728Google Maps\u4e0a\u7e6a\u51fa\u7684\u53f0\u4e2d\u98db\u884c\u5834\u897f\u8dd1\u9053\uff1a<br \/>Kung Kuan Air Base was later renamed Ching Chuan Kang (CCK).
