此鹽水港，彼鹽水港

鍾堅教授在《台灣航空決戰》的第129頁指出，1944年1月11日夜，美國第14航空隊的B-24和B-25轟炸機「在高雄匆匆投彈後，改飛新營、鹽水炸射」。有關轟炸新營、鹽水的敘述，讓我百思不解。因為第14航空隊在1944年的對台空襲行動，絕大多數是在台灣海峽截擊日本的船隻，其次是轟炸港口設施，以及在港外佈雷，目的是要阻絕日本本土與南洋之間的航運。在1月11日的夜間任務中，第308轟炸大隊的三架B-24在高雄港外佈雷，同行的另外八架B-24則在同時轟炸高雄港邊的設施，作為diversion之計，我完全看不出來為什麼他們要飛進台灣內部轟炸新營、鹽水這兩個當時無關緊要的地方。
