In the above photo taken on October 12, 1944, I have circled the area where I suspected the Takao POW Camp was located. It was built by the Takao (now Kaohsiung) Harbor. As the next two photos show, this camp was different from the Taihoku #6 and Kinkaseki camps in that each building was surrounded by walls.
In the 1959 photo below, the camp was gone.
I overlayed the 1944 photo on Google Earth satellite image below. You can see how drastically Kaohsiung Harbor has changed over the years.
